The Sinn 156.1 is the German watchmaker's historic aviation chronograph. It takes up the spirit of the 155 and 156 chronographs that shaped Sinn's history, while adopting a contemporary interpretation with the in-house SZ01 chronograph movement.

Its distinctive feature is the central 60-minute counter, which allows the elapsed time to be read directly without searching for it on a small sub-dial.

Its 43 mm bead-blasted stainless steel case is paired with a captive pilot's bezel with Black Hard Coating based on TEGIMENT and a sapphire crystal. The model is water-resistant to 10 bar and resistant to low pressure. Sinn also notes that the 156.1 received the German Design Award – Excellent Product Design Award 2025.

What is a quick-release spring bar, and how does it work?

The spring bar is the small spring-loaded pin that connects the strap to the watch lugs. On a quick-release spring bar, a small lever protrudes from beneath the strap. Pull it with your fingernail and the pin retracts, releasing the strap.

Change your strap in four steps

  1. Pull the quick-release lever to release one side of the strap, then the other.
  2. Insert one end of the new strap’s spring bar into the lug hole.
  3. Pull the lever, align the other end with the second hole, then let go.
  4. Gently tug on the strap: you’ll hear a slight click, and it’s in place.

A strap for every occasion

Calfskin for the weekend, cordovan for work, alligator for special occasions: your watch can change its look as quickly as you do. One watch, several straps, and just as many personalities.

Select the quick-release spring bar option on the product page for each strap when adding it to your cart.
